By Road: Travelling north or south on the A1M, turn off onto the A168 towards Thirsk & Teesside. After 4 miles leave the A168 and head south on the A19 towards York. Pass the sign saying Thirkleby Hall Take the next turning to Thirkleby, Hemlsey, Coxwold & Caravan Route. At Coxwold turn left towards Byland Abbey and the village of Wass. At the Wombwell Arms public house turn right and look for the Carr Lodge sign on the right hand side after about a mile. You have arrived - enjoy your stay

By Rail: There are railway stations at both Thirsk and York. There is a good frequent bus service from York.
